Using the audit log

The audit log is your per-message record. Every message Civora processed appears here, along with what Civora decided and what action was taken. Open it from Audit in the dashboard sidebar (or from the audit sub-page of a specific server).

What's in the log#

For every moderated message:

  • Timestamp. When the message was sent.
  • User. The Discord user who sent the message.
  • Channel. Where the message was posted.
  • Action. What Civora did — none, flag, delete, timeout, or ban.
  • Category. Which of the six categories triggered the decision (toxicity, harassment, spam, nsfw, hate speech, self-harm).
  • Status. Whether the message has been reviewed (relevant for flagged messages).

Filters#

The filter bar above the table:

  • Date range. From / to dates. The range you can extend depends on your tier's retention (see below).
  • Action. Filter to all, none, flag, delete, timeout, or ban.
  • Category. Filter to all, or one of the six categories.
  • Channel ID. Limit to one channel.
  • User ID. Limit to one user.

Filters compose. You can combine date range + user + category to answer questions like "what hate-speech actions were taken against user X last week?"

A text search field matches against the message content within your tier's retention window. Combine it with the filter bar to narrow scope.

Table columns#

The audit table shows Time, User, Channel, Action, Category, and Status as columns. Click a row to expand a context view with the full message and Civora's reasoning.

CSV export#

The audit page has a CSV export button with two modes:

  • Excerpt only. Exports the metadata (timestamp, user, channel, action, category, severity) plus a short excerpt of the message. Safe for sharing with stakeholders.
  • Full content. Includes the full message text. Requires an explicit GDPR confirmation — full content exports are personal data and you're responsible for handling them appropriately under the lawful basis you collected them on.

The export respects the current filter selection.

Retention windows#

How long the audit log goes back depends on your tier:

  • Free. 7 days.
  • Pro. 30 days.
  • Business. 90 days.

The retention window is part of your tier and is not separately configurable. Older data is removed automatically and isn't restored when you upgrade — only data captured after the upgrade benefits from the new tier's longer window.
